Dobrylas village, whose name comes from its situation among forest glades, where Nowogrod inhabitants once fled from the Teutonic Knight Krzyzacy, is set in a beautiful landscape, situated as it is in the Kurpie Green Forest. It is worth to stopping here for some time to admire the beauty of pristine nature. Hummocks of land are thickly covered with pine forests, the villages have wooden houses, there are scattered wayside shrines, and the winding ribbon of the River Pisa offers many splendid pictures.
During the winter the Pisa is covered with ice, and in the spring and sometimes the autumn floods there are exquisite carpets of flowers such as yellow marsh marigolds. Picturesquely situated farms offer rooms for tourists. There is also the opportunity to try regional dishes, to ride in a horse-drawn carriage, and to experience living Kurpie traditions.
