Especially during Summer time, Trentino presents a very rich agenda of events. There are cultural, recreational, religious or sport. A complete list of all the events will be definitely longer, but few need to be reminded.
Carnivals have a great importance in the Trentino culture and during February or March many are displayed in the region. Between April and May, Trento, the capital town of the region, hosts the “International Mountain Filmfestival”, an important occasion to gather the attention of film-maker, writer and journalists on the mountain life and with all is connected with.
At the end of June, Trento is still on the general attention for a week-long series of events. During the “Feste Vigiliane” (St. Vigilio is the patron of Trento), the city turn to its historical habits and many Middle-Age activities were displayed.
During the months of September and October many communities have special events related with the end of agricultural session. Quite well-know are the “Festa della Vendemmia” (“Vintage party”) linked to the harvest of grapes, usually displayed in the southern part of the region.
The traditional rural culture has a great importance during November too, at this time in fact there are events linked with newly produced wine (called Novello) and with the chestnuts. Yearly events are closed by the many “Christmas time market” that appear in many localities of Trentino from the end of November until Christmas’ eve.
